Having switched from Mandriva 2007.1 to the desktop flavour, I was really impressed with the hardware compatability out of the box. Running from a Live USB Stick, all the hardware on my DELL Latitude D630 sprung into life( including the Thumbprint scanner) whereas Mandriva didn't want to play ball with my sound card or wireless. Like you say, a very polished end product. I really must agree with you, this 9.04 release really seems to have topped the bill.
